Just got back from another successful northern lights trip. Alaska is incredible the Aurora has been active every night we have been there (7+ years). Some nights the Aurora is blocked by the clouds but this is very unusual. March is one of Alaska’s clearest months. This is also one of the most active time of year.

Kenai Fjords National Park in the Fog
Foggy Days are great for photography. It adds a sense of mystery. Shapes become the priority over color. I love to take advantage of the variety in the weather. We had the boat loop this area a few times so we could have a variety of compositions
Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska is probably the most beautiful park I have ever seen. I lead photo tours and workshops to this place every year. Every time I enter the park I never know what kind of adventure is in store for my group.
It is mostly accessible by boat. We use a private boat so we can make sure we spend the most time at the best places.
It looks great with a sense of mystery in the fog. You never know what is around the corner either.
The following marine mammals can be found in the waters around Kenai Fjords National Park. Sea otter. Dall's porpoise. Harbor porpoise. Steller sea lion. Harbor seal. Orca (Killer Whale) Fin whale. Gray whale. The seabird colonies and eagles are incredible also.
We explore coastal rainforests, tidewater glaciers and remote Alaskan islands.

There is something special about eagles. I lead photo tours and workshops across the country. I am lucky that we get to photograph several each year and it never gets old. On last year's Alaska trip we spent a lot of time photographing them on land and by boat. It was a blast.
In Alaska they are common especially on the coast. I think local people think we are crazy getting so excited about them.
It is nice that the eagle population is rebounding. There is not many great success stories with the environment lately.
If you are interested in joining us on a photo workshop or tour of Alaska. Please visit our website. We have several trips where we photograph Eagles like Florida, Maine and Alaska. We also photograph a lot of other incredible wildlife.

For this picture we used a private boat so I was able to have him position the boat for the best angle. Private boats allow us to spend as much time as we want and prioritize our time.
